Erect the Gudhi of Victory by defeating the unrighteous,

and establish the Hindu Nation

   Gudhipadwa is a Yugadi tithi (A lunar day that marks the beginning of an Era). Since Deity Brahma created the universe on this day, scriptures describe gudhi as the Brahmadhwaj (Flag of Deity Brahma). Prajapati waves are present in maximum proportion on this day, and by ritualistically worshipping a gudhi on this day the worshipper gets maximum benefit of these waves.

   Since gudhi is also a symbol of Bhagwan Shriram’s victory, it is also known as Vijayadhwaj (Flag of victory). Therefore, ritualistic worship of gudhi is not only the worship of Brahmatej (Radiance of Brahman), but is also the worship of Kshatratej (Radiance of Kshatriya).
   According to the tenet that man should perform spiritual practice and abide by Dharma (Righteousness) as per the times, it is essential for Hindus to worship the Brahman and Kshatra forms of the gudhi.
     Besides victory, the gudhi also symbolises joy. Shriram returned to Ayodhya after slaying demon Ravan. This marked the beginning of Ramrajya. Gudhis were erected in Ayodhya then as symbols of joy.
Today, Hindus should interpret the implied meaning as mentioned in the scriptures correctly (of the act of erecting gudhis). Just as Shriram defeated Ravan, Hindus should defeat the corrupt, those against Dharma and the unrighteous. Then and only then, will erecting a gudhi (that symbolises victory) have some meaning. Besides, erecting a gudhi highlights the splendour of Ramrajya. When compared with Ramrajya, the present day secular democratic rule is nothing short of a Ravanrajya (Ravan’s demoniacal kingdom) ! If at all Hindus wish to experience the true joy of erecting a gudhi, then, it is imperative that they establish a Hindu Nation based entirely on Dharma; that alone will impart the spiritual experience of Ramrajya.
   Therefore, O Hindus ! On this auspicious day (which is an auspicious day among the three and half muhurts, as per Hindu scriptures), make a resolve to erect the gudhi of victory by defeating the unrighteous and establish a Hindu Nation based on Dharma.

A Prayer on Gudhipadwa

‘O Deity Brahma ! Shrivishnu ! Enable us to absorb the Principle of Creation and the Fire Principle present in the atmosphere. Let the Chaitanya (Divine consciousness) present in these Principles be preserved continuously. Let the energy thus received be used for our spiritual practice.’

Significance of Gudhipadwa

The day which marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year is Chaitra Shukla Pratipada. It is known as Gudhipadwa (in Maharashtra) and Ugadi (in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh).
According to Brahmapuran, on this day Deity Brahma created the universe. For Hindus, therefore, this day has special significance. It starts with an auspicious bath, followed by decorating the doorway with a toran (made from mango leaves), performing ritualistic worship and hoisting the gudhi (Flag of Deity Brahma).
Who was the first to proclaim that a year should have twelve months and how did the world come to accept it ? The foremost exponent of this is undoubtedly the Vedas. What the Vedas said, the world accepted. Then, considering 1st January as the beginning of the New Year has no logic.

There are natural, historical and spiritual reasons to mark the beginning of the year on first day of the Hindu month of Chaitra.
1. Natural : Towards the first day of Chaitra (Padwa), the sun takes a position above the point of intersection of the equator and the meridians) and the spring season commences.
In Shrimadbhagwadgita (10.35), Shrikrushna says, ‘Among the seasons, the exhilarating Vasant (Spring) season is my manifestation’. In this season, the weather is pleasant and exhilarating. In Shishir (Autumn) season, the trees shed leaves. Towards Padwa, trees bear new foliage and appear fresh.

   2. Historical : On this day, Shriram slayed Vali; Shriram also returned to Ayodhya after slaying Ravan. This day, Shaka kings too defeated the Huns who had invaded Bharat in the fifth century. This day commemorates commencement of Shalivahan era after Shalivahan vanquished his enemies.
   3. Spiritual
   3A. Creation of the universe : Deity Brahma created the universe, and on this very day the Satyayug began.
   3B. One among the three and a half auspicious muhurts (Auspicious times) : Gudhipadwa, Akshayatrutiya and Dushehra (Vijaya-dashmi) make up one each (A total of 3), and the first day of the Hindu lunar month of Kartik comprises half of the three and a half muhurts. Every moment of these days is auspicious.
   3C. Higher proportion of Prajapati waves reaching the earth : Tantra text Ganeshyamal states that in all 108 frequencies, one each from the four parts (charans) of the twenty-seven lunar asterisms from the region of lunar asterisms (nakshtralok) 27×4 =108, reach the earth.
   On this day, Prajapati waves are present in the universe in a larger proportion. During sunrise on this day, Chaitanya (Divine consciousness) emitting from these waves can be retained for a longer period. Therefore, within 5-10 minutes of sunrise, we should perform our usual and ritualistic worship of the gudhi.
   Gudhi is a symbol of victory. Since a symbol of victory is always held high, so is the gudhi.

Massive display of Hindu unity in Kolkata

Kolkata (West Bengal) - Surmounting innumerable obstacles and strong opposition from Trinamool Congress, ‘Hindu Samhati’, a fiery Hindu organisation succeeded in holding a massive meeting in Kolkata on 14th February, showcasing Hindu unity. The meeting marked the 4th anniversary of this Hindu organisation. Over 12,000 devout Hindu brethren from far off villages and cities congregated for this meeting.

   Present on the dais were Swami Pradiptanandji, Swami Tejasanandi, Acharya Yogesh Shastri, Vrundavan Parker, Dr. Gautam Sen, Dr. Nilmadhav Das, Mr. Tapan Ghosh (Founder of ‘Hindu Samhati’), Mr. Ramesh Shinde (of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti) and Mr. Abhay Vartak (of Sanatan Sanstha). Bowing to the dictates of the ruling anti-Hindu Trinamool Congress, Police had earlier refused permission for the meeting and had also began arresting volunteers of ‘Hindu Samhati’. There was a speculation whether it would be possible to hold the meeting at all.
   However, volunteers of ‘Hindu Samhati’ moved the High Court and obtained permission. Hence, the meeting scheduled for 1.30 p.m. actually began at 3.45 p.m. Due to time constraint, only Mr. Tapan Ghosh, Vrundavan Parker, Mr. Ramesh Shinde, Dr. Gautam Sen and Swami Tejasanandi were able to guide the gathering.
   Pictures of Chhatrapati Shiva-ji Maharaj and Shrikrushna-Arjun were presented to Mr. Tapan Ghosh by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Sanatan Sanstha. (This picture of Shrikrushna-Arjun made by Sanatan Sanstha contains Krushnatattva to the extent of 28.9%.)
   During his speech, Vrundavan Parker (from USA) stressed the need to tread the path of Truth to awaken Hinduttva amongst the Hindus. Mr. Tapan Ghosh said, “This platform aims at telling the world about atrocities perpetrated on Hindus !”

   Mr. Ramesh Shinde (Spokes-person of HJS) said that every citizen of this Nation will have to proclaim ‘Vande Mataram’, else they better leave the country. He stressed the need for Bharatiyas to unite for establishment of the Hindu Nation.                                                     Snippets : 1. Fearing police atrocities, many people did not attend the meeting.
2. There was a presence of over 300 Police (men and women).
3. Police did not open the gates of the ground till 12.30 p.m. for the meeting that was scheduled for 2 p.m.
4. Bengali citizens hailed - ‘Jai Shivaji, Jai Bhavani !’, as Mr. Ramesh Shinde of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti spoke.
5. Mr. Vrundavan Parker from USA received a spontaneous and heart-warming response from the citizens.

       The meeting of ‘Hindu Samhati’ was strongly opposed by the local Trinamool Congress Government, local administration and the Police. All news channels, which normally give some ‘Breaking News’ for dismal attendance in the meetings of Hindu organisations, completely ignored this meeting.                                           ‘Sudarshan’ news channel nurtured Hindutva !

TMC’s bid to implicate Mr. Tapan Ghosh in a false case
Kolkata (West Bengal) - West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata (Bano) Bannerji was stunned at the unprecedented support that Hindu Samhati garnered. The Government had, therefore, set in motion its machinery for suppression of the agitation organised by Mr. Tapan Ghosh to awaken and unite Hindus.
On this background, Mr. Ghosh was arrested under sections 298, 295A and 120-B of IPC at 9 p.m. on 14th February and efforts are on to implicate him in a false case. Mr. Ghosh was produced before Alipore sessions court. The court ordered judicial custody for him till 18th February.

Kolkata (West Bengal) – Mr. Tapan Ghosh was released on bail on the 18th of February. He immediately held a press conference in presence of Mr. Vrundavan Parker from USA, officials of Hindu Sanghati Mr. Animitra Chakraborty and Swami Tejasanand Maharaj and spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha Mr. Abhay Vartak. During the press conference he said, 'Due to appeasement of Muslims and harassment of the Hindus the existence of Hindu community in West Bengal is endangered. Indraprastha (New Delhi) - Vishwa Hindu Pari-shad (VHP) has objected to the working group report on animal husbandry and dairying for the 12th five-year plan, which includes recommend-ations to lift the ban on beef exports from Bharat. VHP has demanded that the Government withdraw its report to the Planning Commission and apolog-ise to the Nation before religious and nationalist people took to the streets in protest. ‘Export of beef will not only butcher our mother and its family but it will amount to a murder of the Constitution and Dharma of the country,’ VHP spokesperson said.

They have published their appeal on their website. The jihadis have announced 3rd March 2012 as the date for the proclamation of an Islamic Nation from the heart of New Delhi, India. These jihadis have appealed that Muslims should launch their campaign on that day.

   With less than 21 days before what is probably going to be India’s biggest Muslim uprising, Shariah4Hind would like to declare as part of the ongoing campaign to establish Islamic governance in the Indian subcontinent the release of an unprecedented fatwa. (These jihadis have openly disclosed the intentions of Muslims across the world. What could be more shameful to find that, despite this fatwa being available on websites for so many days, the spineless anti-Hindu politicians of the Congress party have done nothing. This is akin to following the footsteps of Mohandas Gandhi. The situation creates a doubt whether this is their plot to surrender the entire country to Muslims. Hindus, beware, be alert and prepare to teach a lesson to those issuing such fatwas. - Editor)
     Drawing on the presence of over 50 crore Muslims this fatwa will target the Indian constitution as well as senior politicians including Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Narendra Modi and L K Advani.
   Since the abolition of Islamic rule in the Indian subcontinent Muslims and non-Muslims have been subjected to the cruelest laws that have seen polytheism, oppre-ssion and the exploitation of men and women flourish. (If we look at the state of affairs in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Iran, where Shariah is in force, it is seen that the life of non-Muslims is worse than what it would be in Hell. Genocide of Hindus continues. Muslims are also handed barbaric punish-ments according to Shariah like stoning to death, chopping off the hands and legs etc. Women get worse treatment than that meted out to animals.     British colonialism in India ceased in 1947, however, the blunt reality is that their blood cont-inues to flow in the hearts of India’s ruling elite who are just as determined to prevent Islam from being implemented in the area.
   The horrors of Gujarat in 2002 proved how anti-Muslim certain sections of Indian society have become and yet these crimes among many others have gone unaccounted for.    The fatwa which has been approved by leading scholars and jurists will thus be a powerful call for justice in India and will inshaa’allah (God-willing) take immediate effect. The Islamic destruction of Indian Idols and statues

   India is one of the few count-ries in the world where explicit idolatry is openly celebrated. Public displays of paganism are common with Idols present in nearly every town and city.
Famous public Idols include the Murudeshwara or Shiva statue in Karnataka, which stands at over 35 metres tall. Census reports show that over 800 million Hindus currently reside in India, with Idols playing a big role in rituals.
   Statues of public figures are also a common feature of the Indian landscape. The Indian state of Gujarat announced in 2011 a project to build the world’s tallest statue paying ‘tribute’ to one of the foremost protagonists of Indian independence, Sardar Vallabh-bhai Patel, a close companion of the tyrant Mohandas Gandhi.
   Associating partners or equals to Allah (God) is seen as the biggest crime in Islam. Allah says in the Quran, “…Indeed, associating partners with Allah is a great injustice”. [EMQ 31:13]
   Islam also prohibits the construction of statues of living beings, men or women, righteous or wicked. Allah (God) relates to mankind (in the Quran) about the downfall of the people of ‘Ad, who erected large statues in commem-oration of pious men. They were destroyed by a terrible storm’.
    The establishment of the Shariah in India will ultimately see an end to all public Idols and statues. Although non-Muslims (Hindus, Buddhists etc.) will not be prohibited from practising their religion privately, construct-ion of Idols and statues (in the public arena) will. It is because of the pampering [of minorities] by politicians of all political parties, that jihadis dare to publicly plan a ban worship of Deities. - Editor)
   Large scale projects outlining the destruction of public Idols and statues will most likely be enforced, returning India back to her glorious Islamic past.    As a possible replacement to India’s (public) Idols and statues, we envisage the construction of Masjids (Mosques), symbolising the transformation from polythe-ism to monotheism, from dark-ness to light. Need for Muslim Rule in India

    There is a consensus among all Muslim scholars that it is not permitted for non-Muslims to have authority over Muslims.
Allah says in the Quran, “I have created you (Muslims) a leading Ummah (Nation) in order to witness the affairs of mankind”. [EMQ 2:143]
   Islam is the only religion to have maintained its relationship with God, with a miraculous book called the Quran and meticulous sciences that ensure texts record-ed during the life of the final Messenger Muhammad can be verified, understood and authent-icated. This cannot be said for any of the other world religions, which have literally been lost in translation.
    Fundamentally however, Islam is not a secular religion and unlike the ‘biggest democracy in the world’ always refers its govern-ance back to the supreme comm-ander, Allah (God).
   The Islamic constitution remains intact 1400 years after its inception, and emphatically puts the Indian constitution to shame. Political parties such as the BJP and Indian Congress have let India down because just like their British predecessors they were never suited to be rulers and so ruined their country with back-ward and evil policies.
    India needs to return to her glorious Islamic past. India needs a Muslim revolution.

British citizens pressurise their Government to stop aid to Bharat

London (United Kingdom) - Public unease has given way to increasing fury here over giving millions of pounds in aid to an increasingly prosperous Bharat, as the British Government continues to resist pressure to stop it despite being in the throes of an economic crisis.

The clamour to stop the aid reached a new high when Bharat last month decided to prefer the French fighter jet Rafale to the Typhoon, which is partly manufactured in Britain. 20,000 Bharatiya websites under siege from Bangladeshis

Dhaka (Bangladesh) - Black Hat Hackers, a hacker group in Bangladesh has been responsible for hacking as many as 20,000 Bharatiya websites. After their hacking spree, the group went on a virtual celebration too.
The websites hacked by them include www.paisacontrol.com, a site that dealt with stock related news and tips; Indian Border Security Force (BSF) etc. The hacking of the BSF site followed the killings that took place at the Indo-Bangla border by the BSF personnel. The site was complet-ely damaged.

Srilankan Navy attacks
Bharatiya fishermen Chennai (Tamil Nadu) - Last month, some Bharatiya fishermen were attacked by Srilankan Navy while they were fishing at the international border at Kachchativu. Srilankan naval soldiers who were on their patrol pelted stones at the fishermen. The Srilankan soldiers destroyed their fishing nets while damaging the boats of the fishermen, and asked them to leave. Bharat to allow direct foreign investment to Pakistan !

Indraprastha (New Delhi) - Hoping that if Pakistan, Bangladesh and other neighbouring countries are encouraged to make direct foreign investment in Bharat, it will help create an atmosphere of trust to establish peace, the Congress Government is seriously thinking of giving permission to Pakistan to make direct foreign investment in Bharat. Though Bharat had earlier given ‘Most Favoured Nation’ status to Pakistan and extended special concessions in trade and commerce, Pakistan has so far refused to give such a status to Bharat.

Recently, two nationalised banks - State Bank of India and Bank of India - have cancelled their plans to open a branch in Pakistan, as it would involve a huge expenditure on the security of the branches. Expecting that in future the situation will change, the Union Government is thinking of allowing Bharatiya banks to open branches in Pakistan and allowing Pakistani banks in Bharat.

Kasab tells SC to commute death sentence to life

Indraprastha (New Delhi) - Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Amir Kasab, convicted for the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, pleaded with the Supreme Court to commute his death sentence to life imprisonment. Arguing for Kasab, Adv. Raju Ramachandran, said that the cost of keeping the terrorist alive should not be considered by the court while deciding whether to hang him or not. Kasab is lodged in a special cell in Mumbai’s high-security Arthur Road jail, the construction of which alone cost over Rs. 5.24 crore. High Court issues orders turning down volume of loudspeakers at mosques

It said the they should be positioned at a restricted height of eight feet from the ground. The court also directed them to change the direction of the loudspeakers and make them face the wall of buildings, and not outside, to reduce the noise level. Kasargodu (Kerala) - Kanipura Sri Gopalkrishna Kshetra Samrakshana Kriya Samithi, Kumbla is constituted by the devotees of Sri Gopalkrishna Temple, which consists of renowned personalities of the locality. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways published notification of proposed acquisition of its land on 8th December 2011 in ‘Mathrubhumi’, a Malayalam Daily Newspaper. It also called for the objections against the acquisitions of the temple land.

The Samithi has sent innumerable letters to National Highways Authority of India and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and all other concerned Government Departments from January 2011 onwards. Now it is high time for the Hindus to unite and protest lawfully and wholeheartedly in the ‘Online Signature Campaign’ against proposed acquisition of the Temple land.

It should be noted that route of Konkan railway was changed so that all small churches at many places including Navelim village in South Goa could be saved from demolition. This delayed the completion of railway route by a decade. Even in Pune, widening of road work has been held up as there is a mosque in the way, which will have to be demolished. There are many such examples.

After this appeal and information from the Samithi, religious leaders and devotees swarmed the place and carried out a procession. Groups consisting of over one lakh people picketed the office of the District Collector, in order to register their protest. A memorandum against the proposed widening was submitted to the District Collector.

Mysore (Karnataka) - Mysore City Corporation (MCC) demolished 87 Hindu temples declaring them illegal. This anti-Hindu demolition drive, which began at 4 a.m., was carried out under the supervision of nine assistant commissioners of MCC, who were assisted by 20 engineers, nine excavators, 10 trucks and 100 gangmen. JCB machines were also used for demolishing these temples.

Commentary by ‘A Scholar’
   1. The Incarnation in Kaliyug has to carry on with His mission through subtle presence for a 1000 years after renouncing the body; else the dire state of the Nation and Dharma will not improve.
    To maintain the reign of Dharma, the mission has to cont-inue through subtle presence so as to consolidate the structure of the Nation and Dharma at the level of Chaitanya (Divine consciousness). H.H. Dr. Athavale will be accomplishing a similar mission.

   2. In Kaliyug, the situation will not improve merely by undertaking the nirgun mission. It is equally important to carry on with the sagun mission to save the lives of devotees and restructure the mind of the society, Nation and Dharma.
    3. The mission of reinstate-ment of Dharma can be achieved in a perfect manner only if 30% of it is accomplished at the gross level and 70% at the subtle level. Since H.H. Dr. Athavale is going to accomplish the same, His condit-ion has become akin to that of Sage Dadhichi’s.
   4. Downfall of the Nation can be arrested by Kshatratej (Radi-ance of a warrior), while the abuse of Dharma needs to be stopped only by Brahmatej (Radiance of Brahman). Since H.H. Dr. Athavale displays an incarnate state which is an exceptional combination of Kshatratej and Brahmatej on the sagun and nirgun scale, the mission of establishment of the Hindu Nation (Divine Kingdom) will be accomplished by Him alone.
    5. Since the spiritual power of jivas (Embodied souls) that perform sadhana (Spiritual practice) in Kaliyug is very less, the Incarnation needs to sacrifice at the gross and subtle levels. The incarnate mission brings perfect-ion to the Incarnation’s life. His mere presence also leads lives of others towards Moksha.

   6B. Mind (Tejtattva [Absolute Fire Principle], the purification of thoughts in the atmosphere) : The Tejtattva in the form of the mind of an Incarnation prevents the thought-related pollution in the atmosphere and inserts pure thoughts in their place.
   6C. Intellect (Vayutattva [Abs-olute Air Principle], perfect out-come through appropriate decis-ions) : Decisions are given by appropriately linking kruti (Act) and karma through the intellect in the form of Vayutattva and perfect outcome of a mission is attained. Merits are thus accumulated through it.
   6D. Every mission culminates in Divine task, because of the absence of ego.
   6E. Chitta (Subconscious mind) (Akashtattva [Absolute Ether Principle], spread of Dharma on a wider scale) : Through the subtlest existence in the form of chitta, widespread dissemination of the mission is done, which pervades all the ten directions, encompassing Akashtattva.
    7. Following the establish-ment of the Hindu Nation, the seed of Dharma remains activated for the next 1000 years due to the mission of the Incarnation. Later, its dissolution begins and the end of Kaliyug approaches.
   8. Since the bodily destiny of the Paratpar Guru is associated with samashti (meaning ‘collective’ here) destiny, He has to face severe distress.
    8A. An Incarnation functions maximally at the sagun scale as long as the physical body exists, and maximally at the nirgun scale after renouncing the body. During such a mission, there is a large scale attack of negative energies, and hence, the physical body undergoes extreme suffering and becomes debilitated.
   8B. Since the body-destiny is associated with samashti destiny, He has to face the privation and the harmful effects of the battle, for Dharma is actually seen on the physical body. Similar effects are now visible on H.H. Dr. Athavale’s physical body. He is suffering from a number of ailments like decrease in the Pranashakti (Vital energy), wearing out of the bones, giddiness, reduced appetite, wide fluctuation in the blood pressure, dark circles under His eyes, extreme fatigue, dryness of the mouth, slurred speech, boils on the skin due to increased body heat, dental ailments, blackening of the tongue, loss of memory etc. Therefore, it will not be surprising if such a body, which is a ware-house of innumerable ailments, suffers the same fate as that of Sage Dadhichi !
    8C. The sole reason for H.H. Dr. Athavale's distress is that though there are Saints who are carrying on their mission at an individual level, there is hardly any Saint who is involved with the samashti level in the present Kaliyug. Since H.H. Dr. Athavale is at a supreme position that functions in the role of an Incarnation in the present period, He has to face all the distress alone and hence, His physical condition has beco-me akin to that of Sage Dadhichi’s.

at the possibility of a ban on Sanatan with the Stance of an Observer?

Since H.H. Dr. Athavale has been assigned an incarnate mission by God, He cannot look at the possibility of a ban on Sanatan Sanstha with the stance of an observer or as God’s grace. (Following are the perspectives towards the mission of Gurus who undertake vyashti and samashti mission, and according to the different paths of sadhana they follow.)

H.H. Dr. Athavale : Good news does not make me happy, for I look at it with the stance of an observer or as God’s grace. However, when it comes to news about a possible ban on Sanatan Sanstha, I am unable to see it in the aforementioned manner since I imagine the distress likely to be suffered by the seekers. Thus, I experience how difficult it is to transcend happiness-sorrow. To me, looking at the moribund state of anyone (including myself) with the stance of an observer or as God’s grace is possible; all the same, not being able to do so in case of the ban surprises me. Does it mean that I can have this stance when it comes to vyashti (Individual), but not when it comes to samashti (meaning ‘society’ here) ? When will I be able to do this too ?
A Scholar : What you are saying is true.

Commentary by ‘A Scholar’

   1. Mission of a vyashti Guru
    1A. Jivas who perform vyashti sadhana become progressively subtle and ultimately merge with Moksha.
    1B. While becoming progressively subtle, everything is sacrificed, that is, it becomes possible to get detached from the respective aspects, and this is what the ultimate objective of this sadhana (Spiritual practice) is.
   1C. While performing sagun sadhana one has to proceed on the spiritual path by sacrificing every place related object and thus, becoming detached from Maya (Great Illusion). In this case, sacrificing one’s own wish has greater importance.
    1D. In vyashti sadhana, sadhana is performed with a specific objective in mind.

    2. Mission of a samashti Guru
   2A. Jivas performing samashti sadhana become progr-essively expansive and finally merge with the kal (Time).
   2B. While performing samashti sadhana it is necessary to consider the appropriate thought in the present as God’s wish and perform every worldly activity as part of sadhana and from the perspective of samashti benefit.
   2C. In case of samashti sadhana it is necessary to pay more attention to its samashti effect rather than to its objective.
    2D. If an incident takes place that has a large scale and extensive effect on the samashti life, then it becomes necessary to personally handle the situation and find a solution on it. Most of the times, the samashti Guru looks at decisions (that may not harm the samashti) with an observer stance. However, on a subject like a ban on Sanatan Sanstha, which will have harmful repercussions on samashti, He pays personal attention and tries to solve it.
   2E. In this case, instead of viewing the situation with an observer stance, He descends to the level of ‘Jiva-Jivatma’ and tries to solve the problems at the gross level by providing Chaitanya (Divine consciousness) at the level of Pruthvitattva and Apatattva as a remedial measure. Therefore, in the ‘Jiva-Jivatma’ state, anxious thoughts about the impending ban arise in H.H. Dr. Athavale’s mind as these thoughts play an important role in accomplishing the gross task without any hindrance, on the basis of the power of His resolve.
   2F. Gross level reflection in the mind of Saints (in the form of happiness-sorrow) has its appropriate effect, leading to activation of the sagun energy of God for the sake of that mission. It protects the samashti from its harmful effect. Therefore, the Guru who is involved in incarnate samashti mission requires to execute acts on both scales, gross and subtle, in the form of an incarnate mission, by giving due consideration to their cause-effect relationship and without looking at events with an observer stance. Then and only then, the balance of the universe is maintained.
Since the very same process is taking place with H.H. Dr. Athavale, thoughts about the impending ban arise in His mind and He cannot view them with the stance of an observer as He has been assigned an incarnate mission by God, wherein, He is required to perform all actions (whether gross or subtle) in a perfect manner and protect the samashti from the calamity.
3. Conclusion : Saints who perform vyashti sadhana are not required to pay attention to everything like a samashti Guru has to, since their path requires them to move ahead by detaching themselves from everything. Therefore, a difference is perceived between the method of functioning of a vyashti Guru and a samashti Guru.

New methods of spiritual healing for seekers with distress

Seekers who have negative energy distress should find out for themselves the suitable healing method from amongst the methods of listening to kshatrageets, H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance on sadhana (Spiritual practice) & Kshatradharma sadhana, bhajans (Devotional songs) of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj and Divine sounds.

   To date, seekers have received 15 types of Divine sounds that can be used for spiritual healing. Similarly,
1. Bhajans of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj,
2. H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance on sadhana (Spiritual practice) &
3. Kshatradharma sadhana (Spiritual practice for protection of seekers and destroying evildoers),
4. Kshatrageets (Songs that arouse emotion of a warrior) - all these are also meant for spiritual healing at the level of Akashtattva (Absolute Ether Principle).
   Generally, seekers are distressed at the vyashti (Individual), vyashti-samashti, samashti-vyashti or samashti (while involved in the spread of Spirituality) level.
     All this depends on one of the above mentioned levels of the seeker’s spiritual practice or one of the above mentioned levels selected by the mantriks (Subtle sorcerers) from Patal (Hell region) to cause distress to seekers.
    Kshatrageets are effective as a healing method on distress at the vyashti level, H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance on sadhana and Kshatradharma sadhana is effective at vyashti-samashti level, H.H. Baba’s bhaj-ans at the samashti-vyashti level and Divine sounds at the samashti level. (For a comparison on the special features of these healing methods, please see Table 1 below.)
    Seekers should now experiment as given here and find out which healing met-hods are effective in reducing their distress.
      Listen to any of the fifteen Divine sounds, any bhajan sung by H.H. Baba, H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance, any kshatra-geet for two-three minutes each to observe which of these increases the distress. (If listening for two-three minutes is not enough, listen for up to five minutes.) One that causes maximum distress should be considered as the most effective healing method on the distress. The healing method selected thus will trouble the negative energy which is causing distress the most and hence, the negative energy will cause distress to us to a greater extent.
    While listening to the most effective healing method from amongst the Divine sounds, H.H. Baba’s bhajans, H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance and kshatrageets as per this experiment, if the distress exceeds the tolerance level or if the manifestation of the negative energy is severe, switch to listening to that Divine sound, H.H. Baba’s bhajan, H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance or kshatrageet which does not cause distress or causes less or medium distress.
Once the proportion of distress reduces, switch back to the healing method that had caused severe distress. Continue with this exercise. Spiritual healing thus effected will reduce the power of the negative energy. In the experiment, if H.H. Baba’s bhajan or kshatrageet is selected as the healing method, sing mentally while listening to it; it will have the same effect as chanting of the Name (of God) has.
   Those who have psychological distress such as numbness of the head (meaning, inability to think), unnecessary thoughts or depression should listen to a Divine sound, H.H. Baba’s bhajan, H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance or a kshatrageet for two-three minutes each, observe which of these makes them feel good, and continue listening to it as a healing method.

   Presently, since the intensity of adverse times has increased, the attacks of demoniacal energies have also increased. With passage of time, the severity of this adversity will grow. Hence, it is necessary that not only seekers who have negative energy distress, but those who do not have distress should also pay attention to spiritual healing.
   Similarly, it is necessary that objects associated with our seva (Service unto Absolute Truth) and other belongings (such as clothes) should be placed in a protective sheath. Doing so will reduce the possibility of attacks of demoniacal energies on our belongings and prevent unnecessary wastage of our spiritual energy in combating such attacks. Just as the armed forces remain alert during the war period and chalk out strategies of defense, we too have to adopt certain measures and by continuously performing spiritual healing, remain in God’s protective sheath.

   In the middle of 17th century, entire Bharat was witness to a horrible atmosphere of mayhem and anarchy under the barbaric rule of the Mughals and the Sultans.

Lakhs of innocent men, women and children were brutally killed when they refused to embrace Islam. The Sultans converted the whole country into a slaughter-house. In such adverse conditions, exhibiting great bravery, valour and sacrifice, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj came on the scene like a colossus and tossed away the yoke of foreign Muslims and establ-ished a sovereign and powerful Hindu Nation.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj created self-confidence in Hindus. He made Hindus realise that they had the might of a lion, but were leading a life of a sheep.
   He established a competent and progressive civil rule with the help of a well-regulated and disciplined military and a well-structured administrative set-up. From a small contingent of 2,000 soldiers inherited from his father, he created a formidable force of 1,00,000 soldiers, who eventually defeated the mighty Mughal empire even after his death.
   During his long military career and many campaigns, his strong religious and warrior code of ethics, exemplary character and deep-seated and uncompromising spiritual values directed him to offer protection to houses of worship, the helpless, women and children. He always showed respect, defended and protected places of worship of all denomin-ations and religions.
    His coronation ceremony was performed amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras and sprinkling of Holy waters from seven rivers and seven seas.
    As Shivaji sat on the throne, the main priest held the royal umbrella and hailed him as Shiva Chhatrapati. He was conferred the title of ‘Kshatriya Kulavantas Sinhasanadheeshwar Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ by the priest.
   The crowning ceremony was a big blow to the invincibility of Muslims. After the fall of the Hindu empire of Vijayanagar, it was Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who was destined to protect the Nation and Hindu Dharma.
   The great Hindi poet Bhushan gave up the royal favour of the Mughal court and came to Shivaji to record his glory and grandeur. He rightly said,

काशिजी की कला जाती ,मथुरा मस्जिद होती,

शिवाजी न होते तो सुन्नत होती सबकी ।

(Meaning : If Shivaji were not to be there, Kashi would have lost its culture, Mathura would have been turned into a mosque and all would have been circumcised.)
To remind posterity of the day of coronation, Chhatrapati Shivaji started a new Era - ‘Rajyabhishek Shaka (Crowning Era)’. In his fight for independence and after establishing his own kingdom, Shivaji did everything possible to promote Hindu Dharma.
His assembly of eight minist-ers was based on Hindu ideals. We come across this concept of eight ministers in the Ramayan and the Mahabharat. King Dashrath too had eight ministers. In the Shanti-parva of Mahabharat also, it has been suggested that an exchange of thoughts of eight ministers is necessary. During the coronation ceremony, Shivaji changed the Persian names of ministerial posts to Sanskrut one’s as follows.

The motto Shivaji inscribed on his coin amply reflects the age-old Hindu ideal pulsating in Shivaji’s mind. His seal in Sanskrut read :

शाहसूनो: शिवस्यैषा मुद्रा भद्राय राजते ।

(Meaning : Ever increasing like the new moon and reverently saluted by the universe, this seal of Shivaji, Shahaji’s son, stands for the welfare of all.)

The successors of Shivaji, the Peshwas had carried the Hindu Swami (saffron) flag right up to Kabul, and ultimately crippled the Mugh-al seat of power, which had rema-ined unchallenged for several centuries, never to rise again.

great Vivekanand once said about him in these glowing terms - ‘Shivaji is one of the greatest national saviours who emancip-ated our society and our Dharma when they were faced with the threat of total destruction. He was a peerless hero, a pious and God-fearing king and verily a manif-estation of all virtues of a born leader of men described in our ancient scriptures. He also embo-died the deathless spirit of our land and stood as the light of hope for our future’.

The glorious life of Chhatra-pati Shivaji Maharaj carries the spirit of victorious resistance against foreign aggression and presents a vision of national freedom rich with its Hindu content. In today’s unstable and perilous times, to get inspiration to win over such a situation, it is necessary for all patriots to celebrate this day with nthusiasm.

Today, on the pretext of preventing deforest-ation, heretic organisations like Andha-shraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANiS) and ‘secular’ politicians are spreading a wrong message of lighting Holi with garbage. Lighting Holi of garbage will only pollute the environment. On the other hand, celebrating Holi with a bhav (Spiritual emotion) of worship towards Goddess Holika will make the atmosphere Sattva-predominant.

Curbing malpractices during Holi is our religious duty !

There are a lot of malpractices taking place under the pretext
of celebrating Holi today. Similarly, on the day of Rangpanchami, people indulge in malpractices such as eve-teasing, throwing water-balloons, applying dangerous dyes to the body etc. These malpractices harm Dharma; hence, putting an end to them is our religious duty. Spread this word in the society and even after doing so, if you come across such incidents, lodge complaints with the Police. Sanatan Sanstha conducts public awareness campaigns on this.

Ms. Pratiksha Acharya(age 15 years) from Mangluru, Karnataka achieved a spiritual level of 60% in February. This was declared by Sanatan Sanstha's Founder, H. H. Dr. Athavale. She was felicitated by Him in the presence of Sanatan Saint Pujya Anuradha Wadekar and other seekers in Sanatan's Ramnathi Ashram at Goa. Here is brief report.

H.H. Dr. Athavale's guidance

1. Guidance to Ms. Pratiksha

   1A. Move from vyakta bhav (Expressed spiritual emotion) to avyakta bhav (Unexpressed spiritual emotion) ! : In vyakta bhav, attention is not on the action being performed. While moving from vyakta bhav to avyakta bhav, each action has to be performed perfectly. Our sadhana (Spiritual practice) will then become appropriate as per Karmayoga. Therefore, now you should pay attention to perform-ing every action perfectly.

    1B. While moving from vyashti sadhana to samashti sadhana, our manners and etiquettes should be different ! : So far you have been in vyashti sadhana. Shrikrushna pervaded your life. You could see Balkrushna in everyone and hence, you could address them as ‘Babu (Child)’. If you continue to address everyone as ‘Babu’, then others too will emulate you, with-out actually having that spiritual experience. It will be inappropri-ate from the perspective of their sadhana.
   1C. Stepwise teach others samashti sadhana as per their age group : In beginning of samashti sadhana, try to teach 10-year-old Gargi (Daughter of Sanatan’s Saint Pujya Atul Dighe and Mrs. Avantika Dighe). Once you are well-versed in this aspect, try to teach students of Ved-Pathshala (Sanatan’s Vedic School) and students from Sanatan’s Gurukul. Later, teach even elders about awakening of bhav.
   1D. Continue to perform sadhana in the same way you have been doing so far, and become a Saint at the earliest !

Points perceived on looking at pictures drawn by Ms. Pratiksha

   ‘1. When Ms. Pratiksha draws a picture of any Deity, she merges with that Deity. Therefore, bhav pertaining to that Deity manifests in that picture and hence, we do not feel like taking off our eyes from that picture.
    2. Accurate depiction of bhav expressed by the eyes : A promin-ent feature of any picture drawn by Ms. Pratiksha is the eyes of the Deity. Depicting bhav in the eyes of a Deity is the most difficult part in drawing a picture. However, she has depicted them accurately. For example, one of her pictures depicts Mother Yashoda with Balkrushna in her lap (See picture above). She has shown Mother Yashoda’s gazing downward. The gaze depicts Her vatsalya-bhav (Spiritual emotion of motherly love). Similarly, Shrikrushna’s gaze is in the upward direction.
   She may not know the reason for such a depiction, yet she has drawn it with consummate ease. I felt that she had drawn this picture in a state of sahajavastha (State of natural communion with God).
   3. Since she has drawn pict-ures very accurately without any formal education in Fine Arts, I felt that her sadhana in the previous birth must have been through the medium of Art.
   4. There is a different kind of beauty in pictures drawn by her and hence, we feel like looking at them continuously. Our bhav also awakens on observing the various shades of bhav expressed by the Deities in her pictures.’

Ms. Pratiksha’s bhav

   1. She feels that her father is Vasudev (Shrikrushna’s father), her mother is Yashoda (Shri-krushna’s mother), her brother is Balaram (Shrikrushna’s brother) and she herself is Shrikrushna.
2. She feels that the animals on the roads are Shrikrushna’s cows.
3. She likes butter and pohe (Puffed rice), the way Shri-krushna did.
   4. When butter is not available she applies rice paste to her face.
5. She sleeps with her hands below her head, as Shrikrushna (Shrivishnu) used to.
6. Her bhav gets awakened when she hears the sound of a flute.
7. She feels she is feeding Shri-krushna and H.H. Dr. Athavale while she is eating.
   8. She feels that Shrikrushna and H.H. Dr. Athavale are feeding her with their hands, and the hands appear merged to form one single hand.
   9. She feels the tips of her fing-ers are red like those of Shri-krushna’s and H.H. Dr. Athavale’s.
   10. When she looks at a chariot, she feels she is perform-ing Kashatradharma sadhana (Spiritual practice of protecting seekers and destroying evildoers) and she often remembers the shloka ‘Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya … ’ from Shrimadbhagwadgita.
   11. While at home, she tries to dress like Shrikrushna does.
    12. She draws a picture of Shrikrushna on her birthdays and pastes His pictures on her books.
    13. While drawing pictures, she feels as if she is drawing the picture of real Shrikrushna.

14. She feels she should wear ornaments like Shrikrushnadoes.Hence she wears her mother's ornaments.She applies Tilak too

Importance of 60 % Level in Spirituality

Like companies that publish reports about their financial position, activities etc., this is a monthly report of spiritual growth of Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (which is on the path of spiritual practice under the guidance of Sanatan Sanstha).    1. It is easier to detach from Maya (due to which sanskars have formed on the subconscious mind), and give up all materialistic objects.
   2. Since Anand (Bliss) is being experienced, the thought of comfort, not only in this world, but also in heaven, does not arise in the mind.
   3. Their body, the objects they use, emit Divine fragrance.
   4. Dissolution of mind the begins and it becomes easier to absorb thoughts from the universal mind.
   5. Such seekers are able to perform spiritual healing on seekers who have severe distress due to effect of negative energies.

Importance of Gratitude

By repeatedly expressing gratitude, a seeker develops bhav of gratitude. Once this state is attained, as he constantly realises that ‘God is the doer, I am nobody’, his subtle ego starts reducing. Hence, in any difficult situation he humbly surrenders to God and only then he acts. This is called ‘surrender to God’. When he starts surrendering to God not only in difficult situations but even in small incidents in day-to-day life, his spiritual emotion of surrender increases. A seeker who has spiritual emotion of gratitude and surrender is always close to God.

3. Correlation between the distress due to negative energies and personality defects
    Personality defects cause subtle wounds in the mental body of an individual. These subtle wounds generate Raja-Tama-predominant vibrations. Such vibrations easily attract negative energies towards the individual. They can then easily enter the body of the individual and stay there for prolonged period. Among the manodeha (Mental body) and karandeha (Intellect) it is easier for the negative energies to attack the mental body. Personality defects weaken the mind. An individual with a weak mind is more prone to negative energy attacks.

3A. Stages in the process of merging of an individual with a negative energy
   1. Taking advantage of the personality defects of the individual, a negative energy whose sanskars match that of the individual tries to create a centre in his body at the point of the vital and the mental sheath by emitting black energy. This point makes it easier for the negative energy to take control of the vital and the mental sheath at the same time.
   2. Slowly, as the black energy in the individual increases, there is more manifestation of his personality defect. This increases the proportion of Raja-Tama components in the body of the individual, and when it equals that present in the body of the negative energy, it takes complete control of that individual and starts residing in his body in a dormant state. For many years thereafter, it can cause physical and mental distress to the individual. This process is known as ‘merging of the individual and a negative energy’. Through such a process, the negative energies can cause distress in the gross form through the individual. Thus, it can be seen that in a way, negative energies only are moving in the society in a gross form. - Gurutattva (Through the medium of Mrs. Anjali Gadgil, 5.8.2004, 10.30 a.m.)
3B. More the personality defects, more is the distress due to negative energies : An individual who has more of personality defects also suffers more distress due to negative energies. For example, if the individual is of irritable nature, the negative energies make him increas-ingly irritable due to paltry reasons. This makes the indivi-dual withdraw and he distances from people. The individual also cannot concentrate while chanting, and taking advantage of this the negative energies torment him further. The same happens with individuals who have addictions.
   3C. Negative energies enhance personality defects of an individual originally present in him. New defects can also develop in him which are there in the negative energy. There is no difference - personality defect originally in the individual and one newly created by the negative energy being more powerful or longer lasting. (Divine Knowledge received by H.H.    3D. Difficulty in removing negative energy from an individual affected by personality defects : In seekers affected by negative energies, 60-70% suffer to a greater extent because of personality defects. Seekers who have more personality defects do not get relieved of negative energy distress early. Even if a negative energy is removed, another takes its place. It is because of personality defects, that effectiveness of spiritual remedies also reduces; hence, removal of personality defects must be given priority.

More the number of personality defects, more is the ego and more is the distance between God and the seeker.

We cannot see our image properly in an old mirror with multiple spots on it. This holds true for our personality defects too. Image of the omnipresent God cannot get fixed in our mind because of defects, nor is there self-realisation.

Divine consciousness and Knowledge emanating from God cannot be received by us because of our personality defects; therefore our spiritual practice is hampered.

God is devoid of personality defects. To merge with God it is essential to eradicate all defects and inculcate values.

4. Harm incurred in samashti sadhana

   A. Personality defects can lead to difficulty in commun-ication with each other and understanding each others’ thoughts. Therefore, if any perspective about seva is wrong or misunderstood, then lot of mistakes take place.
    B. Poor communication leads to many shortcomings and mistakes in the mission. Besides, spiritual practice of others is also hampered.
   C. It is because of personality defects that the established systems are not followed accurately.
   D. To rectify the harm incurred, time and energy of co-seekers is utilised.
   E. Seva output reduces because of improper use of time and manpower.

Comparison Between Bhartiya & Western Clothing

Spiritually useful clothes

   1. Short and tight fitting clothes emit Raja-Tama waves
   A. When the attire is such that it covers the entire body, it protects the body from the sun, wind and rain. It also saves from the embarrassment of exposure. Conversely, wearing short clothes neither protects the body nor prevents the exposure.
B. Raja-Tama waves emitted by short clothing arouse sexual desires in individuals of the opposite sex. The individual who wears short clothes incurs the demerit for this act.
C. Sexual desires are aroused in the subtle bodies of negative energies wandering in the envir-onment due to the exposure from short clothes. Negative energies are attracted to that individual and can cause him / her distress.
    Hence, Hindu culture has recommended wearing of clothes that cover the entire body.

2. Commentary by ‘A Scholar’ on H.H. Dr. Athavale’s writing

H.H. Dr. Athavale’s writing infers that a jiva (Embodied soul) can go to the root of an aspect, that is, know its cause-effect-relation-ship by pursuing Spirituality; however, science has limitations of existence in the form of Maya (Great Illusion) !

3. H.H. Dr. Athavale’s writing - The ridiculous remedy of west-erners in the context of foul odour emanating from the body and clothes ! : Since the body and clothes emit foul odour, western-ers repeatedly spray perfume on their clothes. Instead, if they had conducted research on the reas-ons for the foul odour, they would have discovered that this happens because of negative energies. Then, they would have begun on their sadhana (Spiritual practice) as a remedy on it.

Commentary by a Scholar

   Harm at spiritual level due to the western culture which propounded the theory of belief in science,and its special features
   A. The belief in science has the support of belief in the intellect.
   B. Since the inferences drawn at the level of intellect are intractable, they have a greater propor-tion of ego-based emotions.
   C. Ego mired in emotions invites negative energy distress.
   D. In western countries, people believe only in science and hence, their culture is not worth emulating; in fact it is such that it can neither take us to any logical conclusion, nor does it have the ability to draw logical conclusions.
   E. In western countries, the thinking is influenced by belief in science, meaning, a thinking that is without any culture. Hence, several illusory mantriks (Subtle sorcerers) who have spiritual powers create centres for them-selves with the help of centres for thoughts that exist in the atmosphere, and dwell there.
   F. If negative energies dwell in the body, the proportion of emission of subtle foul odour through perspiration, air in the mouth and exhalation is higher.
G. To eliminate this foul odour, westerners created perfumes; however, instead of promoting sattvikta (Purity), they promoted illusion creating odour.
   H. The materialistic world that relies so heavily on science created high grade illusion-creating perfumes to rid the foul odour; in other words, through the illusion-creating fragrance, believers in science took the people living in the western environment closer to the illusory mantriks.
   I. The evil strategy of mantriks gradually spread throughout Bharat, and a stage was set for the destruction of original sattvik, fragrance-bestowing perfumes, that is, for disappearance of these products from the market.
J. Jivas who have pride in their intelligence and who superficially uphold the culture that relies heavily on science, failed to raise their level of thoughts beyond the limits of Maya (Great Illusion), and hence, they could never understand that as per the inferences drawn by Spirituality, the creation of foul odour is mainly the handiwork of mantriks from Patal (Hell region).
K. On account of the illusory nature of the environment in western countries and the congr-egation of Raja-Tama-predom-inant waves in the atmosphere there, whatever little Sattva component was left in the bodies of people living there also got eliminated. The people are highly influenced by the evil western culture and have moved far away from Spirituality.
L. Under the influence of Maya, since the people do not have the ability to go to the root of the problem, meaning, the cause-effect-relationship, they are not able to destroy the Raja-Tama-predominant seed emanating from the aspect. This is exactly the process that has taken place with regards to the westerners.
    Pursuing the science of Spirituality, that is, actually performing sadhana enables us to go to the cause-effect-relationship of every aspect : Science of Spirituality alone can set standards for any aspect. By pursuing the science of Spirituality, meaning, by performing sadhana, an indivi-dual can attain components such as Shakti (Energy), bhav (Spirit-ual emotion), Chaitanya (Divine consciousness), Anand (Bliss) and Shanti (Peace).
As a result, they are able to go to the root or the cause-effect-relationship of every aspect; however, absolute belief in science has the limitation of existence in the form of Maya ! Through the precise example mentioned above, H.H. Dr. Athavale has elaborated this aspect.

Workshop on stress management

Panvel (District Raigad, Maharashtra) - A one day workshop was organised in February on stress management and how to lead life without any stress.
HJS volunteer Mr. Pravin Khot guided the audience on the subject. Over 30 citizens attended the workshop. Mr. Khot impressed upon the audience how important it is to remain in the present for leading life without any stress.

Lectures against
celebration of Valentine’s Day

   Rajura (District Chandrapur, Maharashtra) - Volunteers of HJS met Principals of various colleges here, requesting them to create awareness amongst students and dissuade them from celebrating Valentine’s Day. A representation to this effect was also submitted to the Principals and the Police.
   ‘Celebrating Valentine’s Day amounts to turning students to materialism and immorality. Expressing love for just one day is only at physical level. Young girls and boys get married at an early age and repent later. Students should learn about our great Hindu culture and try to abide by it’, says the representation.
   HJS volunteers were present in large numbers at all places.

Representations submitted to Police Stations

Dombivali (Thane) - The harmful effects of celebrating Valentine’s Day are taking the young generation to their down-fall and this has become a social problem. On this day, young people indulge in addictions on a large scale. Boys drive rashly to impress girls in school and college areas, leading to accidents. There have been incidents of eveteasing, leading to the creation of serious law and order problems. This creates additional tension for the Police department too.
The representation mentions that a ban should be imposed on smoking, drinking and partying in college, school and public areas.
Taking into account the ramifications of celebrating this day, representations were submitted by HJS volunteers to senior PI Jadhav of Ramnagar Police Station and PI Ramchandra Sonawane of Vishnunagar Police Station.
Senior PI Jadhav of Ramnagar Police Station said that the drive undertaken by HJS is commendable. “While everyone is trying to be modern today, you are doing all this for the protection of our culture,” he said.

Kolkata - Mr. Ramesh Shinde (HJS spokesperson for Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa) said, “I had to come to West Bengal from Maharashtra for everyone to know that all Hindus in Bharat are united. Those who want to live in this country, will have to proclaim ‘Vande Mataram’. Those, who do not want to pay obeisance to this land are free to go to Pakistan. If Muslims are to be referred to as ‘Bhai Bhai’, they need to revere ‘Gou-mata’ and ‘Bharatmata’ as mother; else, they cannot be our ‘bhai’; they will have to be called ‘kasai (butcher)’.

When Swami Vivekanand had gone to America, an American asked him, “In one sentence, can you tell us the difference between Hindu Dharma and other religions of the world ?” Swamiji replied, ‘In Hindu Dharma, a person treats all women (except his wife) as his mother; but in other religions, except the mother, all women are treated as wives. This is the importance of Hindu Dharma’. There were 8% Hindus in Pakistan and they are 1% now. In Bangladesh, there were 30% Hindus and the number is down to 8% now; whereas, there were 100% Hindus in Bharat and the number has reduced to 70%.
Despite a ban, a meeting was held near the mosque here between 10.00 p.m. and 12.00 p.m. If a meeting can be held there, why it cannot be held here ? Hindus need to come together. All Hindus from Bharat should unite to establish a Hindu Nation and should learn about Hindu Dharma for making this a Hindu Nation”.

‘Conversion’ for a Day !

When a person converts to a new religion he begins to follow its customs and celebrates festivals of that religion. In the same way, in neglecting our own customs, if we Hindus start celebrating Christmas or New Year as per the Christian calendar, even if it be for a day, we too will be like converts to Christianity ! Hindus are completely oblivious to the fact that they will have to face the demerits of ignoring their own customs, and of being anti-Hindu, for following the materialistic western days of celebration.

Parents of the materialistic new generation are in hibernation !

As per the Hindu religion, every auspicious event begins with ritualistic worship at the auspicious time, waking up at dawn, bathing and wearing clean clothes & ornaments. As a result, the Sattva component in the atmosphere creates good impressions.

On the eve of 31st December, people drink and make merry. Thus, automatically impressions of materialism are created on their subconscious minds. At night the atmosphere is Tama-predominant, hence, the Tama component in them increases. Parents are completely oblivious of what is happening to their children. TV channel to be created only for spreading the activities

for protection of the Nation & Dharma

     This TV channel will have a higher objective of bringing to light the attacks on Hindu Dharma, preventing attacks on Hindus by uniting them in a lawful manner, imparting Dharmashikshan (Education on Dharma) to Hindus, and motivating them to work for the welfare of the Nation and Dharma.
   Therefore, this TV channel will have no place for superficial programs of entertainment and those against the interests of the Nation and Dharma.
     Today, Hindu Dharma is under attack from all sides. There are only a few print and electronic media that impart Dharmashikshan and encourage Hindus towards Dharmacharan (abiding by Dharma). Most newspapers and news channels are under communist influence or are pro-Christian. Therefore, Hindus do not have any independent platform to express their views or voice their feelings against injustice. This endeavour is an attempt to provide such a platform through the medium of this unique TV channel.
Coverage and related information
   1. Initially, the coverage of this TV channel will be limited to Maharashtra and Goa.
   2. Fifty percent of the time will be devoted to information on the attacks taking place on the Nation and Dharma, related remedies, and the remaining time will be for Dharmashikshan.
   3. Trained manpower - cameramen, journalists, anchors, editors (who are also seekers) are required.
   4. Financial assistance is required.

A Spiritual Remedy Useful for All !

H.H. Dr. Athavale has been guiding us on all-encompassing spiritual remedies.

These will be effective on any type of distress, besides forming

a protective sheath around the seekers.

1. Sahasrar : At the vertex of the head (sinciput)

2. Adnya : At the midpoint between eyebrows

3. Vishudhha : Throat (Voice box or larynx)

4. Anahat : Exactly at the centre of the chest

5. Manipur : Navel or Umbilicus

6. Swadhishthan : One to two centimetres above the genitals (base of the genitals)

7. Muladhar : Above the anus, or one centimetre above the coccyx

1. Listening to H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance on Kshatradharma sadhana as a remedy : Since the subtle battle is gradually turning into a gross battle, listening to H.H. Dr. Athavale’s guidance on Kshatra-dharma sadhana has become imperative, instead of listening to Divine sounds, bhajans (Devotional songs) of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj and H.H. Mudra : (On the move or when the need for spiritual remedy is felt) Touching the tip of middle finger to the centre of the palm.

Nyas : A. Physical distress - Perform nyas on the chakra related to the part of the body that has greater distress.

B. Psychological distress - Join the tips of the thumb, index finger and the middle finger and perform nyas on Adnya-chakra.

Chanting : A. (When the need for spiritual remedy is felt) : ‘Mum Mum Shum Shum (Two times Mum and two times Shum)’.

B. Measures to be taken if distress is felt while chanting : If any distress is felt or manifestation occurs while chanting this beej-mantra, assess after how many minutes of chanting the distress starts. Later, chant Shrikrushna’s chant ‘Om Namo Bhagawate Vasudevaya’ 5-10 minutes before commencement of the distress.

When the distress reduces, commence chanting of beej-mantra till distress recurs. When the distress recurs, repeat Shrikrushna’s chant. Thus, go on testing your capacity to chant the beej-mantra inbetween. This method is applicable to any prescribed chanting.

SSRF seekers reach Sainthood !

Ramnathi (Goa) - Two SSRF seekers who have lived in a Raja-Tama-predominant environment in foreign countries, have faced very adverse circumstances and performed spiritual practice without any direct guidance, have ascended to the level of Saints and in a way hoisted the flag of Spirituality beyond the seven seas !

Sanatan Sanstha’s Founder H.H. Dr. Athavale announced that SSRF seekers Mr. Atul Dighe (Age 44, Brisbane, Australia) and Ms. Lola Aji (Age 58, Europe) have become Saints, and released a flow of Chaitanya (Divine consciousness) on seekers throughout the world ! These Saints had the rare fortune of accepting the honour at the Holy hands of the Supreme Guru in the august presence of Sanatan’s twelfth Saint, Pujya Anuradha Wadekar.
Most seekers participating in the SSRF workshop at Ramnathi, Goa in January had felt that Pujya Atul Dighe had become a Saint. When H.H. Dr. Athavale asked Pujya Atul Dighe what he felt, He replied “I am nobody”. Elucidating His mental state, H.H. Dr. Athavale said that thinking ‘I am nobody’, meaning ‘there is God every-where’, is a sign of Sainthood.

Special features of SSRF seekers

   A. There are about 50 people in SSRF who can be called seekers. Of them, 8 have achieved a spiritual level of 60% and 2 have become Saints. Any amount of praise will not suffice in describing this achievement.
   There are about 5000 seekers and volunteers of Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Bharat. When compared with the number of foreign seekers, about 900 people in Bharat should have attained a spiritual level of 60% and 200 should have become Saints by now. However, there are only 172 seekers who have attained 60% spiritual level and 13 seekers have become Saints.
   B. The financial position of most foreign seekers is average. They save money throughout the year and come for workshops to Bharat. This shows their intense yearning for spiritual practice.
   C. It is due to SSRF alone that millions of curious people in the world have been introduced to the science of Spirituality in 11 languages and some have begun their spiritual journey.

Though it is said that if everything on earth is sacrificed by one, Liberation is instant, examples of this are very rare. Sanatan has hundreds of examples of annual increase in spiritual level by 1% if sadhana is performed appropriately, which by itself is no mean achievement. There are also examples of sadhana being performed in a way, that the level increased by 2-4 percent in a year.    Tithi : Fourteenth day in the dark fortnight of Magh.
   On this day, the Shiva Principle is 1000 times more active in the atmosphere than on other days. To get maximum benefit of the Shiva Principle, besides worshipping Deity Shiva with bhav (Spiritual emotion), we should also chant ‘Om Namaha Shivaya I’ as much as is possible.
   Type of the vrat (Vowed religious observance) : For fulfillment of some desire or incidental.
   Main aspects of the vrat : Fasting, ritualistic worship and a night of devotional songs.
   Method of observing the vrat : On the thirteenth day of the dark fortnight of Magh, we should fast (one meal only). On the fourteenth day, make a resolve in the morning. In the evening, bathe ritualistically in a river or a pond. Then, apply bhasma (Holy Ash) to the forehead, wear Rudraksha and go to a Shiva temple during the pradosh period. We should meditate on Deity Shiva and worship Him with sixteen rituals.

Perform tarpan to appease Deity Shiva and Parvati. Offer one hundred and eight lotus’ or bel leaves to Deity Shiva while chanting His Name and reciting mantras. Then, offer flowers and water to Him. After conclusion of the worship, amidst recitation of strotras (Hymns) and chanting of the mulmantra (Primal mantra), one flower from the head of Deity Shiva should be taken and placed on the worshippers head. The worshipper should seek forgiveness for mistakes committed inadvertently during the ritual.

Sanatan’s lady-seeker inhumanly beaten in the Police Station !

   Panvel (Maharashtra) - Dr. (Ms.) Aparna Mahangade, Sanatan’s seeker from Satara, Maharashtra had come to Sanatan’s Ashram at Devad, Panvel after seeking due permission from the Ashram management with the intention of performing spiritual practice for God-realisation under the guidance of Sanatan Sanstha. Her parents and relatives opposed her decision and this was the main reason why they forcibly tried to take her home from the Ashram on 10th January. When the Ashram management complained to the Police about this, the Police opined that since Dr. Aparna was an adult, she had every right to decide about her life and residence and that the parents could not pressurise her on this.
   However, Dr. Aparna was subjected to severe psychological torture by her relatives in the Panvel Police Station in front of the Policemen and beaten inhumanly. She was forcibly made to write a false statement that she was willing to go home.
   The relatives who had created pandemonium in Sanatan’s Panvel Ashram made some extremely indecent allegations against Sanatan Sanstha, its Ashram and Sanatan’s seekers. They even threatened Mr. Abhay Vartak (Spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha) that they will beat him up and abduct his female relatives. Young Hindu woman gang-raped by Muslim youngsters

   Kolkata (West Bengal) - Four Muslim youngsters gang-raped a 17 year old young Hindu woman in Paragana District. When the family members of the affected young woman lodged a Police complaint, Halim Baidya, a Muslim youth was arrested. However, the other three are still absconding.
   Rapist released on bail, while affected woman tormented
   Later, the arrested accused was immediately released on bail. According to news on ‘Hindu Existence’, the affected Hindu young woman was not properly examined, labelled a psychiatric patient and forcibly sent home. The physical examination report and the FIR by the Police were altered. The blog also mentions that local Muslims did all this in connivance with the local Trinamool Congress leaders. Norwegian Government objects to
the Hindu way of upbringing

Kolkata (West Bengal) - Employees of the Child Protective Service of Norwegian Government have taken into custody two children of Mr. Anurup and Mrs. Sagarika (who are originally from Kolkata) presently staying in Norway due to their employment. The couple used to sleep in the same room with their children Master Abhiyan (2 ½ years) and Ms. Aishwarya (4 months). However, this method does not fit into the rules of child-care established by the Norwegian Government. Therefore, they took the children into their custody giving the reason that they were not looked after well. The couple lodged a petition with the court in Norway but could not succeed. Muslims attack Hare Krishna Temple in Denmark

Copenhagen (Denmark) - Hare Krishna temple here was attacked by a group of Muslim goons. Upon complaining about this, a Policeman arrived at the scene, noted the damage done and went off. Half an hour later, a bigger group of Muslim goons attacked the temple again. They tried to enter the temple by breaking the front door. The Police were called again but they did not turn up.
The same day, two temple devotees were beaten up in the city for some petty reason. Temple devotees have been advised not to wear their traditional attire to avoid further confrontation and attacks from local Muslims. Hindu temples attacked in US; Petrol bombs used

New York (USA) - Petrol bombs were hurled at two Hindu temples in Queens area of New York city recently. A security camera outside the temple caught the attack on camera and helped the Police create a description of the suspect. A 40-year-old man of Guyanese descent was arrested. Reportedly, he confessed to all the five attacks in the recent times on Hindu temples and cited personal grievances with each location.

Ninety-three Hindu families in Pakistan converted

Karachi (Pakistan) - Thirty-seven Hindus from a nearby village embraced Islam. All of them went to a madrassa at Matli and got converted. These are basically farmers belonging to Bhil and Dalit community who could not repay the loans taken from a money-lender. It is learnt that 93 Hindu families have embraced Islam in the past 22 months. According to a news published on the website of ‘Express Tribune’ (a Pakistani daily), more Hindus will change their religion in the forthcoming weeks.

Surrender bhav of Pujya Nakate

   1.   When Pujya Nakate Kaka was informed that 5 seekers have reached Sainthood on the day of Bhaiduj, He said, “We have got 5 more Saints by the grace of H.H. Dr. Athavale. See, how much grace He is showering on us !”
   He sat in front of the photos of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj and H.H. Dr. Athavale. Tears of bhav flowed down His cheeks continuously for half an hour.
   2.     Pujya Kaka sees H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj in every animate and inanimate object. Hence, He pays obeisance to every object. He is always smiling. When asked about the reason for this, He says, “Darshan of H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj makes me happy”.
    Besides, He has virtues - less ego, remaining in constant communion with God, behaving as per others’ wish, yearning etc. Hence, He became the 13th Saint of Sanatan.

‘How do I describe the greatness of H.H. Dr. Athavale ? I do not have words. My spiritual level increased from 50 to 60% within three months. Even now, it increased by 9% within 5 months. about spiritual practice

   1. Thoughts
   A. Every negative thought takes us a step away from God.
   B. Purification of the mind keeps a strict vigil on each thought and gives it appropriate direction. Remembering God makes our mind pure and sattvik.
   C. To transform our mind into God’s mind, always compare with God’s mind and try to remain happy every moment.
   2. Thoughts about others
   A. Just because someone makes mistakes, do not think ill of him and incur a sin.
   B. Helping one who makes mistakes (with a view that he is ignorant) shows our true love for him.
   3. Importance of a prayer
   A. Consistently plead, cry in front of God; He will bless immediately.
   B. Like a caring mother, He will give us everything.
   C. Always remember that the mother lifts a crying child !
   D. Instead of praying, “O God, when are you going to meet me ?”, pray, “O God ! Let me always be at your Holy feet”; in so doing lies complete surender.
   4. How to increase devotion
   A. We never remember God first; it is He who remembers us first. Our remembering Him is merely a reciprocal action; it helps develop a yearning for God-realisation.
   B. Seeing divinity in each individual helps develop bhav; this bhav gets transformed into devotion and we become devotees of H.H. Baba (H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj).
   C. If our mind rests at the Holy feet of God, we are never short of anything. We have everything with us; hence, H.H. Baba says, “If you contemplate continuously upon Guru’s Holy feet, He will fulfil all your desires”.
   D. God likes bhav and devotion more than knowledge.

- An outstanding example of overcoming distress !

1. Psychological : He was sent home for vyashti sadhana (Individual spiritual practice) in December 2008 because of inconsistent spiritual practice in the Ashram. Instead of getting depressed, He performed spiritual practice with determination and progressed spiritually.
2. Physical : Despite poor health for the last two years, He performed spiritual practice and progressed spiritually.

One Saint of Sanatan speaks
about another Saint

   On 21.12.2011, a thought about who will be the 13th Saint of Sanatan appeared in my mind. On 28.12.2011 Nakate Kaka attained Sainthood. We are both spiritual friends. Here are some spiritual experiences I had after He became a Saint.
   1. Awakening of bhav : On Poush Shukla 4, Kaliyug Varsh 5113 (28.12.2011), during a spiritual healing session I received news that Nakate Kaka had achieved Sainthood. Thereafter, I experienced Anand and my bhav awakened. Tears of joy rolled down down my cheeks intermittently.
   2. Experiencing Anand as Shrikrushna experienced upon meeting Sudama : During the healing session, I saw Shrikrushna dancing and performing His Divine play. Shrikrushna seemed to be happier than I was (at Nakate Kaka attaining Saint-hood). I experienced the same Anand as Shrikrushna experienced when He met His childhood friend Sudama.
   3. Taste of supreme sweetness :   I tasted the supreme spiritual Anand when my spiritual friend became a Saint. My happiness doubled when Shrikrushna joined me in this. I have no words to describe this.
   4. Premonition of Pujya Nakate’s Sainthood : On 10.10. 2011 Pujya Nakate Kaka asked, “What efforts should I make to become a Saint like you ?” I said, “Nothing. You are already a Saint.” I could experience His innocent state of bhav. I learnt from Him how to remain in a constant state of bhav.
   5. Special features of Pujya Nakate
   A. He is in a state of thoughtlessness constantly .
   B. He is not aware of anything around Him.
   C. He is completely engrossed in His own world.
   D. He thinks only of spiritual practice.

Pujya Atul Dighe :

Birth to schooling

       I was born in Indore. In childhood I would feel giddy and collapse. Once I suddenly felt giddy and fell on the stove. My cheeks got burnt. Thereafter too, I faced two fire accidents.
   Then, my father took me to a spiritual healer. He gave me something to eat in a few small sachets and thus the incidence of giddiness gradually stopped.
   We shifted our residence to Rajkot, Gujarat because of father’s transfer, where we came across a spiritually evolved individual. He gave us the mantra of Shri Durgadevi and helped me in my school life. At that time, I did not know what a Guru meant; but I used to obey and respect teachers.
    After a few years, my father was transferred to Karnavati (Ahmedabad), where I completed my education. Between the 9th and 12th standard, my friends used to have fun and frolic, but I never liked joining them. So they used to call me a Ascetic.

College life

I joined architecture course in 1986. Then I began to like aspects such as western music. Since our financial position was not good, I took up a job while continuing with the studies. Then I decided that one day I will go abroad and earn a lot of money. I focussed my efforts in that direction. By the grace of God, I could go to Africa first and then to Australia. During this period, I used to recite Shri Durgadevi’s mantras.
Mrs. Rane (Seeker of Sanatan) is my aunt. She would tell me to chant the Name of the Kuladevata (Family Deity) and Deity Datta; but I told her that I would recite only mantras of Shri Durgadevi. I never felt like performing sadhana (Spiritual practice).

Life abroad

Since the time I went abroad, I began to follow a western life-style (For example, eating non-vegetarian food daily, drinking alcohol, indulging in entertainment and enjoyment). In 1997, I married Ms. Avantika. While she was waiting for an Australia visa, she went to live with Mrs. Rane. She liked the sadhana recommended by Sanatan Sanstha very much and she began to chant. When she arrived in Australia, she suggested the same to me; but due to my ego, I did not listen to her.
Whenever she used to chant loudly, I would shout at her and asked her to chant in her mind. I told her to recite Shri Durgadevi’s mantras. However, she continued the sadhana recommended by Sanatan. After a few months, I had a narrow escape in two accidents; both the times, my mantra of Shri Durgadevi had stopped and the chant of Kuladevata had begun. From this I realised that what Sanatan was recommending was correct and I started sadhana. Very soon, I realised the true goal of my life.

Sadhana under the guidance of Sanatan Sanstha

   Gradually, Avantika and I commenced our sadhana. We started performing seva (Service unto the God-Principle) and obtained happiness. Along with this, I began chanting, studying, doing some Prasar (Spread of Spirituality) etc. During this period, I had several difficulties in getting a job. Hence, I was at home most of the time. Meanwhile, we had a daughter; we named her Gargi. Since I was jobless, I did baby-sitting for Gargi. Then I realised that it is God who takes care of us, we are just mediums.
   There were very few seekers abroad then. We did not have a computer or internet connection. We used to go to a cyber-cafe to check our E-mails. With God’s grace, a friend gave me a computer. Soon we got all the necessities of life. In those days, I circulated ‘Messages to Seekers’ (appearing in Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) among the seekers and on the individual front, I practiced aspects of sadhana as told by the guiding seekers.
   Thereafter, I got the seva of translation. Due to this seva I could learn what Spirituality is and my faith strengthened that there is no alternative to sadhana.
   In 2004-2005, I got a chance to present a programme in a local Bharatiya radio station in Brisbane, Australia. In 2006 I began to take discourses under the aegis of SSRF. Through the discourses, I learnt how to make foreigners understand the topic. Thereafter, H.H. Dr. Athavale gave me an opportunity to give spiritual healing, through which I learnt how negative energies are giving distress and how we can overcome them only by God’s grace. While giving spiritual healing, it became clear that all this was beyond my ability. I am not at all the doer; it is only H.H. Dr. Athavale who is doing everything.

Soon, I got the opportunity to do Prasar in foreign countries, which was followed by the seva of Prasar in Australia. I felt closeness with the seekers when I spoke with them and helped them in their sadhana. In 2010-2011, I was able to do Dharmaseva (Service unto Dharma) through Dharma-sabhas. During this period, I could help in the movement to stop denigration of Deities.

First darshan of H.H. Dr. Athavale

In 2001, we came to Goa for the first time. When I went to His room and touched His Holy feet, I felt that my life had become worthwhile. I told Him everything. In ‘Clarification of doubts’, there is a sentence ‘The moment the Guru is certain that this person will do what I will tell him, He comes into the life of the disciple’. I think my entire sadhana is centered around this sentence.

Gift of knowledge-devotion-detachment from H.H. Dr. Athavale

Upon learning how H.H. Baba (H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj) had given H.H. Dr. Athavale knowledge-devotion-detachment, I asked myself when I will get these. Now I know that He has given me these step by step. First it was the Holy text ‘Rasleela’, which means He imparted me knowledge. On attaining 60% spiritual level, He gave me Paduka (Holy footwear), which means He gifted me with devotion and now on making me a Saint, He has offered me detachment.

H.H. Dr. Athavale keeps His word

A few years ago, H.H. Dr. Athavale had said, “Atul will become a Saint in the next 3-4 years”. In August 2011, when 2-3 seekers went to His room, He said, “Let us declare Atul a Saint in the next Gurupournima. However, in Australia only 3 of you will celebrate Gurupournima !” He made the declaration now itself. It is only H.H. Dr. Athavale who can do this ! I express my gratitude unto His Holy feet for what He has done.

H.H. Dr. Athavale showers grace on each seeker; but the seekers are not aware of it. The seekers have to turn this flow towards them by making efforts to implement processes of removal of personality defects, destruction of ego, awakening of bhav etc.
In the next 3 months, seekers should overcome their defects such as hatred for one another, preconceived notions about other seekers, giving reactions, not getting along with other seekers etc. Only then we can implement these processes in their true spirit and withstand the ensuing critical times. Be aware, that God alone is the doer. If our mind is inclined towards God, He will automatically shower His grace upon us and we will evolve spiritually.

God has guided me naturally from one path to another, granting an understanding that He only is giving the thoughts, inspiring the efforts and getting everything done through me.

I was inclined towards Spirituality and performed sadhana in bits and pieces following different paths. In 1998, we moved to Europe from Singapore. I continued with the daily meditation I had started before we left Singapore. Soon happiness that was previously experienced vanished and I gradually lost interest & enthusiasm in performing that particular practice. One day I was frustrated due to personal problems and prayed, “O God, please teach me how to live this life”. Later, I realised that H.H. Dr. Athavale inspired such a strong prayer and at that particular time, He was directing Ms. Dragana to come to Europe.

Starting spiritual practice under the guidance of SSRF

In 2000, I was introduced to spiritual practice propounded by SSRF by my long time friend and colleague Ms. Dragana. What she told appealed to me and instantly I started chanting the Name of Deity Datta and Shri Ganesh, not even knowing anything about these Deities. Very soon I experienced calmness and gradually chanting became an integral part of my daily routine.
Soon I commenced reading Sanatan’s Holy text on Spirituality and Satsang started in our house. There were only 3 seekers - Ana Lu tai, Igor dada and I. After some time, I started on the seva of translation for Weekly online and continued with attending and conducting Satsangs and studying Sanatan’s Holy texts.

H.H. Dr. Athavale granted awareness that all positive thoughts

are coming from Him and He only talks through seekers

After two years of spiritual practice, I travelled with Dragana Aji to the Ashram for the first time. One day, I felt like getting flowers for seekers. When I came with the flowers I gave them to the lady-seekers in the kitchen. Immediately afterwards I met H.H. Dr. Athavale. He asked me casually if it was my idea to give flowers to seekers in the kitchen. I smiled and said ‘Yes’ proudly. At that moment, I realised that actually distributing flowers to seekers in the kitchen was His thought. I learnt that all positive thoughts and ideas come from Him.
In another experience, while speaking in a Satsang I gave an example of a seeker Mrs. Shilpa about whom I had never heard. From this I realised that it was He who was giving the thoughts and speaking through me.

H.H. Baba developed faith in Him and guided me

to overcome depression through chanting & prayers

   There was a period of two years when I experienced a lot of psychological problems and internal turmoil, and most of the time I felt depressed. I used to cry, I was feeling hurt, experiencing fear and insecurity. Many times I did not feel like getting up in the morning due to lack of strength, and fear of facing a new day.
   At that time, nothing seemed to have any meaning. Every morning after getting up I could focus only on one thing at a time - now washing the face, now dressing etc. Talking to other people became impossible, since whatever they would say either upset or hurt me.
    At that time, my only support and rescue was a picture of H.H. Baba, His book of teachings, chanting and prayers. I would lie in bed for hours crying, chanting and holding H.H. Baba’s picture, looking at it, feeling it. After some time, my mind would get some calmness and crying would stop. During that time, a strong bond was created with H.H. Baba, due to His immense grace on me. I would talk to Him without words and felt that He knew every thought and emotion I had in me and that He only will help me.
   Reading the book of His teachings daily would make me feel calm and peaceful due to imbibing Chaitanya from it. Even I did not worry about understanding what was read, but I was desperate to get some peaceful moments. Gradually the habit of talking to H.H. Baba and praying and surrendering to Him developed and the same is happening even to this day.

The process of internal purification created joy in the heart

The day when spiritual practice of Personality Defects Removal (PDR) was introduced I was very happy and joyful. The feeling was that with PDR we got finally something that could help us remove defects permanently. PDR spiritual practice became daily practice of giving Auto Suggestions (AS), writing mistakes and thinking how to improve. Due to H.H. Baba’s grace, depression and emotions reduced and I was able to live a normal life.

Spiritual experience of reduction in ego

Once I experienced immediately after waking up that I was dead. The feeling was very strong and at the same time I experienced so much peace like I have never experienced before; I lost awareness of time and remained in that state for a while. If this means being dead, then I would like to be in such a state forever. Later, I understood that some part of my ego died at that time and I felt much lighter afterwards.

Over the years and even more after becoming a full-time seeker, seva became the focal point of my life. Interest about events in friends and family in materialistic world started to fade and most of the time was spent in performing seva. Earlier, I feared most how to detach when my mother and father would die and not feel sadness & depression due to it. However due to spiritual practice and H.H. Baba’s grace I could overcome both.

how to tell mistakes to seekers

During one workshop in the Ashram, H.H. Dr. Athavale told me to increase efforts at telling mistakes of seekers. I apologised to H.H. Dr. Athavale with a feeling that I am responsible for seekers’ mistakes and not telling them their mistakes that were noticed. Soon, efforts to tell the mistakes began. H.H. Baba gave the thought that ‘it is God who makes you notice their mistake, so that He can help that seeker’. From this thought, I learnt that if there is less of me in telling the mistakes the better it is, and seekers would benefit more.

   When Mr. Sean Clarke first asked if I would accept seva of Responsible seeker (RS) I did not know anything about that seva and asked him how should I go about it. He asked me not to worry, but just start and that I will get to learn it along the way through practice. True enough, it is through the medium of this seva that H.H. Baba got the most learning and the most efforts done through me. It is by H.H. Baba’s and H.H. Dr. Athavale’s immense grace that I could progress from 50% to 60% spiritual level in one year. Over a period, I developed closeness with seekers in the centre as if they were my own children.
   H.H. Baba inspired the feeling that progress of seekers and removal of obstacles in their spiritual practice is more important than my own progress. It led to increase in patience, perseverance and a listening attitude in me. Even when I did not know solutions to their problems, I was graced with thoughts, energy and ability to continue.
   Sometimes by only listening to seekers’ problems, without even saying anything seekers got solutions for themselves. From those experiences I learnt when we take care of other’s, how God takes care of us. Through this seva H.H. Baba was teaching how to sacrifice my own time, body, mind, intellect and ego for the benefit of others.
    Since January 2011, the yearning for seekers’ growth increased even more. There is a feeling that assisting others to become stable in their spiritual practice is my true responsibility.

For few years when H.H. Dr. Athavale always said that there is no one abroad to perform spiritual healing, I felt that Shrikrushna should grace us in this respect. Due to H.H. Dr. Athavale’s immense Priti (Spiritual love) for seekers, He has graced me with the invaluable opportunity to perform spiritual healing for seekers abroad.

Seva of spiritual healing helped develop samashti bhav in me. During this seva, I experience that I am not doing anything as per the prayer that H.H. Bhaktaraj Maharaj inspired - “Let there be no I-ness in this spiritual healing; let only You remain. You sit, You breathe, You chant, You pray and perform spiritual healing on Your seekers”.
Through seva of spiritual healing due to H.H. Baba’s grace, I was able to forget about myself and was able to concentrate fully on the seekers by trying to understand how they feel during distress and what kind of healing will help them most.

   A realisation dawned that by assigning this seva, H.H. Dr. Athavale was expanding the samashti bhav - from bhav towards co-seekers in the EU center, to seekers abroad and now to all Sanatan seekers.
   During chanting, many obstacles are experienced in the form inability to concentrate on chanting, surge of unnecessary thoughts, lethargy, depression and distress of uncontrollable sleep. Obstacles are overcome only due to H.H. Baba’s and H.H. Dr. Athavale’s grace.
   I express gratitude unto H.H. Baba, Shrikrushna, H.H. Dr. Athavale for getting this writing done through me. Let the spiritual practice and progress of all seekers take place as per Your wish and expectations. Let all seekers merge with God and let everything happen as per God’s wish. This is the prayer at Your Holy feet.
